Pakistan Rangers have apprehended a high-profile terrorist during a targeted operation in Karachi. The suspect, identified as Javed Ali Khan alias Swati, son of Raham Bacha, was captured from Shah Latif Town in the Malir district of Karachi. He is a native of Swat and had been involved in numerous serious criminal activities over the years.
Arrest and Handover
The arrest took place in a joint intelligence-based operation. Following his capture, the terrorist was handed over to the Swat Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for further investigation and legal proceedings. Officials confirmed that Swati had been on the most-wanted list for his involvement in multiple terror-related incidents.
Background and Criminal Activities
Javed Ali Khan joined the Fazlullah Group of Fitna al-Khwarij in 2007. According to Rangers officials, he participated in several heinous acts. Along with local commander Iqbal Hussain alias Abu Tarab, Raza Khan, and Akhtar, he torched the government arms and ammunition depot located at the Matta Police Station. He also planted an IED at the School Shakir Dairy and attacked the Police Chowki Shakardarah. Additionally, the terrorist forcibly seized property belonging to influential individuals in the area.
In 2008, during an Army operation, Swati managed to flee abroad. He remained outside the country for over a decade before returning in 2022. Upon his return, he resumed terrorist activities, prompting law enforcement agencies to track his movements. His arrest is seen as a major success in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
