Three Suspected Robbers Killed in Police Encounter in Chiniot

Three suspected robbers were killed while five of their alleged accomplices managed to escape following an exchange of fire with Crime Control Department (CCD) police near the Chak 157 Wagh Sem Bridge area of Chiniot, police officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Police Act on Intelligence

According to the CCD, a police team acting on intelligence regarding wanted suspects signaled three motorcycles travelling from Jamiaabad to stop for inspection. The riders allegedly opened fire on officers, triggering a gun battle.

During the exchange, two police personnel were struck by bullets but escaped injury as they were wearing bulletproof jackets.

Bodies Recovered and Identification

After the firing subsided, police launched a search of the area and recovered the bodies of three men, identified as Ali, Imran and Arman. Rescue 1122 officials reached the scene and confirmed the deaths. Police said five other suspects managed to flee and a search operation has been launched to trace and apprehend them.

Weapons and Criminal Background

Authorities said illegal weapons were recovered from the deceased suspects, who were allegedly wanted in multiple cases involving robbery, theft and other serious crimes. A case has been registered, the recovered arms have been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
