Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shangla, Muhammad Abdullah Shah, stated that the University of Shangla (UoS) is steadily advancing towards academic excellence and institutional development under the dynamic leadership of its Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Sardar Khan (Tamgha-i-Imtiaz). He made these remarks during his visit to the university on Tuesday.
DC Inspects University Facilities
The DC, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Hammad Haider, visited the University of Shangla and was warmly received by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sardar Khan. Heads of various academic departments, faculty members, and administrative officers were also present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of the university’s academic, research, and administrative facilities. He toured various offices, modern classrooms, digital learning centres, conference halls, the central library, and other educational blocks. He expressed satisfaction with the facilities being provided to students and the conducive academic environment maintained by the institution.
University as a Centre of Higher Education
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Abdullah Shah observed that, despite being located in a remote and mountainous region, the University of Shangla has emerged as an important centre of higher education, research, and intellectual development in the area. He said the institution was playing a significant role in expanding educational opportunities for the youth of the district and neighbouring regions.
The DC lauded the remarkable progress achieved by the university in a relatively short period and attributed its success to the visionary leadership, effective policies, and tireless efforts of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sardar Khan. He noted that the university’s growing reputation reflected its strong commitment to quality education, academic innovation, and institutional stability.
Government Support Assured
He assured the university administration of the district government’s full support in promoting educational activities, strengthening academic infrastructure, and enhancing facilities for students. He emphasized that educational institutions serve as the backbone of social and economic development and that universities such as the University of Shangla are instrumental in shaping the future of the younger generation.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sardar Khan thanked the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner for their visit and keen interest in the university’s affairs. He said that the University of Shangla remained committed to its vision of providing quality education, promoting modern research, encouraging community engagement, and contributing to regional development. The VC said the university was striving to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to meet contemporary challenges while simultaneously focusing on finding practical solutions to local issues through research and innovation.
