Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad Muhammad Nauman Siddique has introduced a new accountability framework linking officer performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Under this system, only officers who fail to achieve their assigned KPI targets will be required to attend review meetings and explain their performance. Those who successfully meet their targets will be exempted from such meetings.
New Accountability Framework Announced
Chairing a meeting to review progress on KPIs on Tuesday, the Deputy Commissioner outlined the revised approach. He emphasized that the framework aims to streamline accountability and reduce unnecessary bureaucratic burden on high-performing officers. “Officers who achieve their KPIs will not be called to review meetings, saving time and resources,” he stated.
Warning Against Fake Performance Reporting
Siddique issued a stern warning regarding false performance reporting. He directed officers to voluntarily rectify any incorrect entries in their reports. He made it clear that strict departmental action would be initiated against any official found making false or fabricated entries in future KPI submissions. This move is intended to ensure transparency and accuracy in performance evaluation across government departments.
Impact on Government Departments
The new framework is expected to increase efficiency and accountability among officers in Faisalabad. By linking accountability directly to KPI achievement, the Deputy Commissioner aims to foster a culture of result-oriented performance. The meeting reviewed progress on various departmental KPIs, with specific targets set for the coming months. Officials were urged to focus on achieving measurable outcomes rather than merely attending meetings.
