Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, held a virtual meeting with Pakistan's Minister of Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, and Minister of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Musadik Masood Malik. The discussions focused on strengthening industrial cooperation and expanding investment partnerships in priority sectors, particularly fertilizers.
Historical Relations and Economic Ties
The meeting praised the strong historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, highlighting the deep bilateral economic ties. Both sides reviewed opportunities to enhance industrial cooperation and exchange expertise in areas such as human capacity development, advanced industrial cities, and ready-built factories.
Challenges and Export Security
The discussions also addressed the most prominent challenges faced by exporters in both countries and ways to secure exports, ensuring the smooth flow of Saudi and Pakistani goods. The importance of enhancing integration in regional and international supply chains was emphasized, along with supporting their stability and sustainability.
On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industry Affairs, Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, and CEO of the Saudi Export Development Authority, Badr Al-Herbish. The Pakistani side was represented by members of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
