RAWALPINDI: The New Town Police has made a significant breakthrough during the interrogation of a car lifter who was arrested in injured condition after an exchange of fire with a police party a few days earlier, leading to the recovery of four stolen vehicles. According to police, the suspect, along with his accomplices, used master keys to steal vehicles, which were later transported to other provinces and sold.

During the investigation, the arrested individual confessed to multiple vehicle thefts across the city. The police team, led by Station House Officer (SHO) New Town, recovered the stolen cars from various locations. The recovered vehicles include a Honda City, a Suzuki Mehran, and two other cars. The police have registered a case and are further interrogating the suspect to identify his accomplices and recover more stolen vehicles.

The operation highlights the effectiveness of the police's crackdown on vehicle theft gangs. The suspect, identified as a habitual offender, was arrested after a tip-off led to a confrontation with the police. He sustained injuries during the exchange of fire and was subsequently taken into custody. The police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help curb vehicle theft in the area.
