ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Tajikistan have reached a significant agreement to enhance bilateral trade, setting a target of $200 million over the next three years. This development came during the 8th Session of the Joint Commission Meeting, where both nations outlined a comprehensive roadmap to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
Expanding Cooperation in Key Sectors
The roadmap focuses on expanding collaboration in energy, agriculture, information technology, health, education, and tourism. Both sides identified potential areas for trade, economic, and scientific-technical cooperation during the meeting held in Dushanbe.
Joint Commission Meeting Details
The two-day meeting, conducted on June 2-3, was co-chaired by Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Jum'a Daler Shofaqir, and Pakistan's Minister for Energy, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari. The discussions aimed at strengthening ties and fostering mutual growth.
This agreement marks a pivotal step in enhancing economic relations between the two countries, with a clear focus on sustainable development and shared prosperity.
