District Police Officer (DPO) Bahawalnagar Muhammad Imran on Thursday visited Chishtian to oversee security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram and Ashura processions. During the visit, he met with members of the Peace Committee and police officers, and inspected the routes of the main mourning procession.
Security Review and Meetings
According to a police spokesperson, DPO Muhammad Imran conducted a detailed visit to Circle Chishtian to monitor the law and order situation and review security measures for Muharram-ul-Haram. He held important meetings with members of the Ulema Peace Committee, traders, and police employees, including DSP and SHOs. The DPO inspected the routes of gatherings and processions to ensure safety.
Emphasis on Interfaith Harmony
DPO Muhammad Imran also met with Ulema and members of the Peace Committee, reiterating the need for promoting interfaith harmony and tolerance to ensure a peaceful Muharram-ul-Haram. In an emergency meeting with police officers of Circle Chishtian, he reviewed the security plan and instructed that a close watch be kept on mischievous elements. He emphasized that no negligence in security would be tolerated.
Instructions to Police Personnel
Addressing police personnel, the DPO encouraged them to remain alert and perform their duties diligently, while behaving politely with citizens. He personally inspected the routes of the main processions and gatherings in Chishtian and issued instructions to complete arrangements for CCTV cameras, lighting, and cleaning ahead of time.
Top Priority: Citizen Protection
DPO Bahawalnagar stated that the protection of life and property of citizens and the establishment of law and order during Muharram is the top priority of Bahawalnagar Police, for which all resources are being utilized. The visit underscores the police department's commitment to ensuring a secure environment during the religious observances.
