Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Communications and Works Shakeel Ahmad on Saturday directed officials of the Communications and Works (C&W) Department to ensure strict quality control and the timely completion of all ongoing development projects across the province. Chairing a meeting in Peshawar to review the department’s Centre Mega Projects, the minister stated that there would be no compromise on the quality of roads, highways, public buildings, and other infrastructure schemes. He instructed officials to take effective measures to complete projects within the stipulated timelines so that the public could benefit from them without unnecessary delay.
Meeting Attendees and Briefing
The meeting was attended by Member of the National Assembly Shandana Gulzar, Secretary Communications and Works Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Chief Engineer (Centre Mega Projects) Shamshad Ali Khan, and other senior departmental officials. During the briefing, Chief Engineer Shamshad Ali Khan informed the meeting about the progress of ongoing schemes, proposed development initiatives, major infrastructure projects, and the department’s overall performance.
Minister’s Directives on Quality and Timeliness
Addressing the participants, Shakeel Ahmad said the provincial government regarded public welfare and infrastructure development as key priorities. He emphasized that the timely execution of high-quality projects would improve the province’s transport network and public infrastructure while contributing to economic growth and social development. The minister directed the relevant authorities to maintain close supervision of all projects, ensure strict compliance with quality standards, and complete every scheme within the prescribed timeframe.

Shakeel Ahmad also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the transparent and efficient use of public funds to deliver sustainable development projects for the benefit of the people. He underscored that no leniency would be shown towards substandard work or delays, and that the department must prioritize the welfare of citizens in all its undertakings.
