KP Government Denies New Military Operation in Eight Districts

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Tariq Saeed Marwat on Saturday dismissed reports circulating on social media and other platforms claiming that a new military operation had been approved in eight districts of the province, describing them as baseless and misleading.

Official Statement on Military Operation Claims

In a statement, Marwat said the provincial government had not approved any new military operation in Khyber, Tank, Kurram, Bajaur, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bannu or Waziristan. He urged the public to disregard unverified claims and rely only on information issued through official channels.

Clarification on Budget Allocations

The special assistant said funds allocated under various budgetary heads were intended for emergency response, natural disasters, possible displacement, relief, rehabilitation and other administrative contingencies. He said linking those allocations to the approval of a new military operation amounted to a misrepresentation of the facts.

Coordination for Law and Order

Marwat said the provincial government remained in close coordination with all relevant institutions to maintain law and order, safeguard the lives and property of citizens, and ensure timely relief and rehabilitation in affected areas. He added that all decisions were taken in accordance with the law, the national interest and public welfare.

Call for Responsible Reporting

He also urged the media and the public to act responsibly by avoiding the circulation of unverified information that could create unnecessary concern and confusion.
