Mari Energies Limited and Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) have reported bringing two new gas wells online, adding a combined 36 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to Pakistan's national gas network, according to separate disclosures filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on June 23, 2026.
Mari Energies' Shams-1 Discovery
Mari Energies Limited announced it has commenced supply of up to 30 MMscfd from its Shams-1 discovery to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). The flow began on June 19, 2026, during the Extended Well Testing (EWT) period, following government approval.
The Shams-1 Well is located in the Mari Development & Production Lease in Daharki, Sindh. Mari Energies holds a 100% working interest and is the operator of the block. The discovery was first announced on March 19, 2026.
In its disclosure, Mari Energies clarified: “This is to clarify that SSGC network does not exist near Daharki Field, thus Shams-1 gas is being supplied to SNGPL having its gas transmission network in the area.”
OGDCL's Sahito-1 Well
Separately, OGDCL disclosed that its Sahito-1 discovery well in the Khewari Exploration License has been brought into production. The well, located in District Khairpur, Sindh, is currently producing 6.0 MMscfd from the Lower Goru Formation (Massive Sand). Production is expected to be ramped up after surface facility expansion.
To enable early monetization, OGDCL laid a 6-inch, 5 km flowline to the Suleman Gathering Facility for processing at the Sinjhoro Plant. The processed gas is being injected into the SSGCL network. OGDCL operates Khewari with a 75% working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited holds 25%. The discovery was first disclosed on March 26, 2026.
The disclosures were filed under Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of PSX Regulations.
