ISLAMABAD: The price of gold witnessed a significant decline in the local market on Monday, with 24-karat gold per tola dropping by Rs4,400 to settle at Rs471,762, compared to Rs476,162 on the previous trading day, as per the rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Gold Rates Fall Across the Board
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs3,773 to Rs404,459 from Rs408,232. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold fell by Rs3,459 to Rs370,767 against Rs374,226.
International Market Trends
In the international market, the price of gold declined by $44 to $4,494 per ounce from $4,538, reflecting a global downward trend.
Silver Prices See an Upswing
On the contrary, the price of silver per tola increased by Rs46 to Rs8,059, while the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs40 to Rs6,909. The association also reported that the price of silver in the international market increased by $0.46 to $75.75 per ounce.
These fluctuations come amid ongoing economic adjustments and global market conditions. The association noted that allocations of Rs1.126 billion for the PSDP 2026-27 have been proposed, though no direct link to gold and silver prices was mentioned.
