The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast very hot and dry weather across most districts of Sindh for the next 24 hours. Intense heat may trigger dust storms in isolated areas of the province's plains.
Heatwave Conditions Expected
According to the Met Office, heatwave conditions are likely to persist over most parts of Sindh until June 12. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal, potentially reaching 48 to 51 degrees Celsius in several districts.
The affected areas include Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Moen jo Daro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Khairpur, and Naushahro Feroze.
Karachi and Other Regions
In Karachi division, maximum temperatures are likely to range between 39 and 42 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, districts such as Tharparker, Badin, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Jamshoro, and Sanghar may see temperatures between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius.
Recent Temperature Records
Very hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the province recently. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Jacobabad, where the mercury touched 50 degrees Celsius. Other notable readings include:
- Dadu: 49°C
- Nawabshah, Moen jo Daro, Sukkur: 47°C
- Hyderabad: 44°C
- Mithi: 40°C
- Thatta and Karachi: 37°C
Residents are advised to take precautions against the extreme heat, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary exposure during peak hours.
