ISLAMABAD: The export of various services from Pakistan witnessed a significant increase of 17.68 percent during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Export and Import Figures
Pakistan earned $8.269 billion from the export of services during the period from July to April 2025-26, up from $7.027 billion in July-March 2024-25. Meanwhile, services imports also rose by 8.56 percent, reaching $10.310 billion compared to $9.497 billion in the same period last year.
Trade Deficit Improvement
The services trade deficit contracted by 17.38 percent, recorded at $2.040 billion against $2.469 billion in the previous year. On a year-on-year basis, the deficit in April 2026 narrowed by 115.99 percent compared to April 2025.
Monthly Performance
In April 2026, services exports grew by 21.71 percent to $914.98 million, up from $751.75 million in April 2025. Imports decreased by 2.82 percent to $888.92 million from $914.74 million. On a month-on-month basis, the trade deficit narrowed by 57.75 percent, standing at $26.07 million in April 2026 compared to $61.69 million in March 2026. Exports rose slightly to $914.98 million from $912.21 million, while imports increased by 4.51 percent to $888.92 million from $850.52 million.
