PERA Fines Petrol Pump Rs100,000 for Fuel Shortage

LAYYAH - The Punjab Energy Regulatory Authority (PERA) Force imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on a petrol pump after irregularities were found in fuel measurement. According to PERA Force sources, SDPO PERA Force Layyah, Ms. Umm-e-Habiba, visited Jaman Shah and inspected the meter at Malik Petroleum. During the check, a shortage of four points in the fuel measurement was detected. Following the violation, the petrol pump was fined Rs100,000 on the spot.

The inspection was part of ongoing efforts by PERA to ensure fair practices in fuel dispensing across the province. Ms. Umm-e-Habiba emphasized that strict action would be taken against any pump found cheating consumers. The fine was collected immediately, and the pump owner was warned of stricter penalties for future violations.
