The Sindh University Testing Centre (SUTC) has completed all arrangements for the pre-entry test for admissions to 33 PhD and 38 MPhil disciplines, scheduled for July 5 at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Sindh, Jamshoro.
Test Details and Candidate Numbers
According to SUTC Director Dr. Aftab Chandio, a total of 713 candidates will appear in the test, including 183 applicants for PhD programmes and 530 for MPhil admissions. The test is a key step in the admission process for the current cycle.
One-Time Opportunity for Previous Applicants
On the special instructions of the Vice-Chancellor, candidates who were unable to appear in the previous admission test held on May 3 have been granted a one-time opportunity to take the test. However, this concession applies only to the MPhil and PhD disciplines included in the current admission cycle. Those applicants who had applied previously in disciplines that are not currently advertised will not be allowed to take the test.
Test Venue and Paper Structure
The test will be conducted at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science. PhD candidates will be accommodated on the first floor, while MPhil candidates will take the test on the ground floor. To facilitate applicants, SUTC has uploaded sample papers for various MPhil and PhD programmes on its official website. The multiple-choice question paper comprises four sections: English (20 marks), Quantitative Analysis or Reasoning (15 marks), Analytical Reasoning (15 marks), and Subject-Specific Questions (50 marks).
Instructions for Candidates
The SUTC administration has advised all candidates to reach the examination venue well before the reporting time and follow the prescribed admission test guidelines, as the test will commence at 9:00 am sharp. Dr. Chandio also advised candidates to bring their original CNICs with them, adding that no electronic devices, including calculators and mobile phones, will be allowed inside the examination halls.
