National Center for Environmental Compliance Conducts Over 19,000 Lab Analyses in 2025
Over 19,000 Lab Analyses in 2025 by NCEC

The National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) has announced that it conducted more than 19,000 laboratory analyses during the year 2025 as part of its ongoing environmental monitoring initiatives. This extensive effort included the collection of 1,447 water and soil samples aimed at measuring pollutant concentrations, identifying various types of contamination, and evaluating their effects on the surrounding environment.

Key Findings and Objectives

Sahar Shar, the director general of environmental laboratories management at the center, stated that these analyses enabled the rapid detection of pollution and illegal discharge violations. The data collected supported regulatory and technical decision-making processes, allowing for prompt action to address environmental breaches. Shar further noted that the findings also assisted in investigations related to environmental violations and crimes, particularly in cases involving serious environmental harm.

Laboratory Audits and Compliance

In addition to the sampling and analysis work, the center conducted technical audits on 44 licensed and accredited laboratories responsible for sample analysis. These audits were performed to ensure compliance with approved scientific standards and regulatory requirements. According to the 2025 assessment results, 40 percent of the laboratories were found to be fully compliant, while 30 percent showed partial compliance, and the remaining 30 percent were deemed non-compliant.
