SIEHS Aids Over 2,200 Mourners in Muharram

The Sindh Integrated Emergency and Health Services (SIEHS) delivered comprehensive emergency medical care to mourners participating in Muharram processions and gatherings across Shaheed Benazirabad district from the 9th to the 12th of Muharram. This initiative was undertaken on the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani.

Deployment of Medical Resources

According to District Manager Aqsa Jamali, SIEHS deployed ambulances, medical teams, and first aid camps at various Imambargahs, mourning processions, and other sensitive locations throughout the district. The goal was to ensure immediate medical attention for any mourner in need.

Medical Assistance Provided

During the four-day period, more than 2,200 mourners received first aid and emergency medical assistance. Jamali stated that mourners who sustained injuries during the processions were treated on-site. Those requiring further medical care were safely transported by ambulance to nearby Basic Health Units (BHUs) and government hospitals.

Coordination and Alertness

Jamali emphasized that emergency response teams remained on 24-hour high alert throughout Muharram. They maintained close coordination with the district administration, Health Department, Police, and other relevant institutions. These coordinated efforts ensured the timely provision of medical services, contributing to the peaceful and successful completion of all Muharram arrangements.
