KARACHI: A fire incident at Jinnah Hospital's Poisoning Ward caused panic among patients and medical staff after smoke filled Ward No. 5 due to a blaze in the air conditioning duct.
Swift Response by Hospital Administration
Hospital spokesperson Dr. Waqas Khan confirmed that the administration responded immediately, relocating all patients to safe areas. Fire extinguishers were used promptly, and the fire was brought under control within approximately 30 minutes due to the swift actions of the staff.
No Casualties Reported
Dr. Khan stated that no loss of life occurred during the incident. However, some medical equipment sustained damage from the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and authorities are assessing the extent of the damage.
