French National Rescued from Domestic Violence in Khyber

Acting on credible intelligence, Khyber district police conducted a raid on a house within the jurisdiction of Bara Police Station and rescued a French national who had been allegedly subjected to domestic violence. The woman, identified as Sylvie Yasmina, 54, a French citizen, was taken into safe custody during the operation.

Background of the Case

According to initial police findings, Yasmina had married a Pakistani man and had been living in Bara since 2014. The couple has five children, one of whom is deaf and mute. Yasmina told police investigators that she had endured continuous mistreatment at the hands of her husband and was not permitted to leave the house.

Police Action and Protection

Khyber Police shifted Yasmina along with her four children to the Women Police Station in Peshawar for enhanced protection and further legal proceedings. The French national has expressed her strong desire to return to France.
