The District Health Officer (DHO) Larkana, Dr. Shaukat Ali Abro, has announced that the Health Department has formulated a comprehensive plan to ensure the best possible medical facilities for mourners during the observance of the 10th of Muharram. The plan was developed in collaboration with the district administration, senior leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Deputy Commissioner Larkana Tariq Manzoor Chandio, the Medical Superintendent of Chandka Hospital Larkana, PPHI, Rescue 1122, and other relevant institutions.

Health Emergency Declared Across District

Following consultations with the Shia Ulema Council, Nifaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafaria, and administrators of various Imambargahs, a health emergency has been declared across the district to effectively address any medical emergencies. Dr. Abro stated that 24-hour emergency duties have been assigned at the Larkana Trauma Center, casualty departments, taluka hospitals, rural health centers, and all other healthcare facilities throughout the district.

Deployment of Staff and Resources

For this purpose, the Health Department has deployed 120 doctors, 295 paramedical staff members, 45 ambulances, and other personnel. Additionally, 128 medical teams and camps have been established in various cities and localities across Larkana District. These teams will provide immediate medical assistance, medicines, and other essential healthcare services to mourners attending religious gatherings and processions.

Control Rooms for Emergency Monitoring

Dr. Abro further stated that control rooms have been set up at both the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and the DHO Office in Larkana to handle any emergency situation. These control rooms will continuously monitor ambulance services, medical assistance, and other arrangements. He added that the Health Department has finalized all necessary preparations for the days of Muharram to ensure that mourners receive prompt and effective medical care in case of any illness, injury, or emergency.
