Acting on credible intelligence, police raided a house in the jurisdiction of Bara Police Station in Khyber district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and rescued a French national who was allegedly being subjected to domestic violence.
Rescue Operation and Victim Identification
The rescued woman, identified as Sylvie Yasmina, 54, a French citizen, was taken into safe custody during the operation. According to initial police findings, she had married a Pakistani man and had been living in Bara since 2014. The couple has five children, one of whom is deaf and mute.
Victim's Account of Abuse
Yasmina told police investigators that she had endured continuous mistreatment at the hands of her husband and was not permitted to leave the house. Khyber police shifted Yasmina, along with her four children, to the Women Police Station in Peshawar for enhanced protection and further legal proceedings.
Victim's Desire to Return to France
The French national has expressed her strong desire to return to France. Police said further investigation into the matter is underway and legal action against the accused is being pursued.
