Rescue 1122 Shangla Launches Heatwave Awareness Campaign

Rescue 1122 Shangla has launched a district-wide heatwave awareness campaign and established temporary first-aid camps in major markets and other public places to protect residents from heat-related illnesses. The initiative was launched on the directives of District Emergency Officer Engineer Malik Sher Dil Khan, who stated that the department was taking proactive measures to safeguard the public during the prevailing spell of extreme heat.

First-Aid Camps Equipped with Essential Supplies

Rescue officials reported that the camps have been equipped with first-aid medicines, emergency medical supplies, drinking water, and other essential equipment to provide immediate assistance to people suffering from dehydration, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and other heat-related conditions. The camps are strategically located in high-traffic areas to ensure quick access for those in need.

Public Education and Precautionary Measures

As part of the campaign, trained rescue personnel are educating the public on precautionary measures, including staying well hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, wearing light-coloured and loose-fitting clothing, and seeking prompt medical attention if symptoms of heat-related illness develop. Teams are also demonstrating basic first-aid techniques for heatstroke victims and encouraging citizens to contact the 1122 emergency helpline in the event of any emergency.
