Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi conducted a surprise visit to the Basic Health Unit (BHU) Numbal on Thursday to review the provision of healthcare facilities. The visit aimed to assess the availability of medicines, staff attendance, cleanliness arrangements, and overall patient care at the facility.
Inspection of Key Sections
During the inspection, the deputy commissioner reviewed various sections of the BHU, including the outpatient department (OPD), pharmacy, and emergency ward. He examined the quality of medical treatment and checked stock records of life-saving and essential medicines.
Directives to Hospital Administration
He directed the hospital administration to ensure uninterrupted availability of all necessary medicines, emphasizing that no patient should be compelled to purchase medicines from outside. Agha Zaheer said that the provision of quality and timely healthcare services at public hospitals remained a top priority of the Punjab government.
Staff Attendance and Professionalism
He also checked attendance registers of medical and paramedical staff, directing them to strictly observe duty timings and demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and courteous behavior towards patients.
