The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), District Office Tando Muhammad Khan, conducted an inspection of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Cardiac Care Hospital in Tando Muhammad Khan to verify adherence to environmental laws designed to protect public health and the environment.
Inspection Team and Scope
The inspection team was led by Assistant Director (Law) Tufail Ahmed Abbasi and included Noor Ahmed Nahyoon and Shahnawaz Baloch. They reviewed the hospital’s operations under the Sindh Hospital Waste Management Rules 2014 and the Sindh Environmental Protection Act 2014.
Key Findings and Compliance
The team assessed waste segregation, disposal procedures, and overall environmental management practices. The inspection aimed to ensure that the hospital follows proper protocols for handling hazardous waste, thereby preventing environmental contamination and health risks.
According to SEPA officials, the hospital was found to be compliant with the relevant rules, though further improvements were suggested to enhance waste management efficiency.

Separately, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered a strict crackdown on wheat hoarding and profiteering to prevent artificial shortages in Sindh. This move aims to stabilize wheat prices and ensure availability for the public.
