A tragic incident occurred in Goth Gamuri, Umerkot district, Sindh, on Tuesday when a school wall collapsed, killing three minor girls. According to police, the victims were walking alongside the wall while returning from a nearby madrasa when it suddenly gave way, burying them under the debris.
Rescue and Identification
Rescue workers and police rushed to the scene immediately after the incident was reported. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Umerkot. The deceased were identified as 13-year-old Sughra, three-year-old Raiba, and Kaneezah.
Chief Minister's Response
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and expressed deep sorrow over the deaths. He sought an immediate report from the Education Department and ordered a transparent and impartial investigation. The Chief Minister directed authorities to take strict action against those responsible if negligence or carelessness is established. He also ordered a province-wide survey of dilapidated walls in schools and other government buildings to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
According to the Spokesperson for the Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the reported deaths of three young schoolgirls. He has sought an immediate report from the School Education Department and ordered a transparent and impartial inquiry. Strict action would be taken against those found responsible if negligence or misconduct is established. Additionally, he directed the immediate survey of unsafe school walls and dilapidated government buildings across Sindh.

The Chief Minister extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased girls. Meanwhile, in a separate development, CM Murad ordered a strict crackdown on wheat hoarding and profiteering to prevent artificial shortages. The incident highlights the urgent need for safety audits of public infrastructure, with over 800 commercial buildings already surveyed for fire safety compliance in the province.
