Food Safety Teams Seize Expired Items in Dera Ismail Khan

Food safety authorities in Dera Ismail Khan have imposed fines on several businesses and confiscated expired food products during a district-wide inspection campaign aimed at enforcing hygiene and food safety regulations. Officials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFS&HFA) conducted inspections at a range of food outlets across the district, where a number of establishments were found violating food safety laws.

Campaign Details

During the operation, inspection teams recovered quantities of expired food items and beverages from various outlets. The products were confiscated and destroyed on the spot to prevent their sale to consumers. As part of the campaign, food safety officials also inspected the kitchen and langar facilities at the Central Jail to assess hygiene conditions, food handling practices, and compliance with prescribed standards.

Corrective Actions

Authorities issued improvement notices to the relevant officials after identifying shortcomings requiring corrective action in food preparation and storage arrangements. Food Safety Authority officials stated that enforcement activities would continue across the district to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and protect public health.
