Former National Assembly Speaker and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser launched a blistering critique of the federal government on Monday, accusing it of complete failure in tackling the escalating crises in Balochistan. Speaking at a press conference at the PTI provincial office in Quetta, Qaiser asserted that the government's writ is absent across the province.
Highway blockades and insecurity cited as evidence
Qaiser pointed to frequent blockades on major highways and a pervasive sense of insecurity among citizens as clear signs of the deteriorating law and order situation. "The government has failed to protect the public and restore normalcy," he said, emphasizing that ordinary people live in constant fear due to the lack of effective state control.
Challenge to government legitimacy
The PTI leader also questioned the legitimacy of the current political setup, claiming that those occupying seats in the National Assembly do not truly represent the people's will. "The government has utterly failed to address the mounting crises confronting the people, particularly in Balochistan," he added, calling for a reassessment of the administration's approach to governance and security.
