Gilani Highlights Eternal Message of Karbala
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in his special message on Youm-e-Ashur, stated that the 10th of Muharram stands as an eternal symbol of truth, righteousness, patience, sacrifice, and steadfastness against oppression. He noted that the tragedy of Karbala carries a timeless message for humanity, illuminating the distinction between right and wrong in every era.
Unparalleled Sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain
The Chairman Senate remarked that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions rendered unparalleled sacrifices on the plains of Karbala to uphold the supremacy of Islam, protect human dignity, and preserve the principles of justice and fairness. He emphasized, “The sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) teaches us that true success and honour lie in standing firmly for truth and making every possible sacrifice in its cause.”
Message of Unity and National Cohesion
Gilani further stated that Youm-e-Ashur also conveys a profound message of unity, tolerance, brotherhood, and national cohesion. He maintained that, in the present circumstances, society must draw guidance from the noble character and teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and work collectively to promote peace, justice, harmony, and mutual respect.
Urging Reflection and Application
The Chairman Senate urged the nation to reflect upon the great sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala and to embody the lofty values for which the Ahl-e-Bait (RA) made everlasting sacrifices. On this sacred occasion, he also offered special prayers for the progress, peace, and stability of Pakistan, as well as for the unity and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.
