Drone Strike Targets Vehicle in Southern Lebanon

An Israeli drone strike on a car in southern Lebanon killed two people on Thursday, medical and security sources said. The attack occurred despite a ceasefire agreement, marking the second consecutive day of such strikes.

On Wednesday, a similar strike killed at least two people, Lebanese security and medical sources told Reuters. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.

Ceasefire Violations Raise Tensions

The strikes come amid heightened tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border. The ceasefire, which had been in place, appears increasingly fragile as both sides accuse each other of violations.

According to the sources, the targeted vehicle was traveling on a main road when it was hit. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and recovered two bodies. The identities of the victims have not been released.

Israel has not officially commented on the latest strike. However, the Israeli military has previously stated that it targets militants posing a threat.

Lebanese officials have condemned the attacks, calling them a violation of the ceasefire. Hezbollah, the powerful Lebanese militant group, has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has urged restraint and called for an investigation into the strikes.
