Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday congratulated Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and his Prosperity Party on their victory in Ethiopia’s parliamentary elections.
Message of Congratulations
In a message posted on his official X account, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended his best wishes to the Ethiopian leadership and people, expressing hope for the country’s continued peace, progress and prosperity. He wrote, “Congratulations to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the Prosperity Party on their victory in Ethiopia’s parliamentary elections.”
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Highlighting the growing ties between the two countries, PM Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and Ethiopia enjoy a warm and steadily strengthening relationship. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and deepening engagement with Ethiopia in the years ahead.
Future Cooperation
The prime minister also expressed his desire to work closely with Abiy Ahmed to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Ethiopia. “I wish Prime Minister Abiy and the people of Ethiopia continued peace, progress and prosperity, and look forward to working together to further strengthen the bonds between our two countries,” he said in the post.
Digital Monitoring in Punjab
In a separate development, the Punjab government has rolled out a digital monitoring plan for Muharram processions and gatherings to ensure security and compliance with regulations.
