Strengthening Bilateral Ties
During the meeting, the two officials reviewed relations between their countries and explored ways to enhance cooperation in a manner that serves their common interests and aspirations, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Regional Security Discussions
Prince Faisal and Barrot also discussed regional and international developments and their implications for security and stability. The French minister is on a regional tour that includes stops in Doha, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat, where he will conclude his trip on Friday, as reported by Arab News en Francais.
The tour aims to strengthen France's partnerships with Gulf countries and adapt its instruments of influence to contribute to a more stable security architecture.
Other Diplomatic Engagements
On the same day, Prince Faisal also received a telephone call from his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand. The two discussed Saudi-Canadian relations, the latest developments in the region, and efforts being made regarding them.
Additionally, the Saudi foreign minister received phone calls from his Kuwaiti and Egyptian counterparts, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Badr Abdelatty, respectively. The latest developments in the region were discussed during these calls.
