In a strong show of solidarity, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Jordan have condemned the recent Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi held a telephone conversation on Wednesday to discuss the escalating situation.
Details of the Attacks
An Iranian attack targeted Kuwait's international airport, resulting in the death of an Indian national and injuries to 63 others. The attack forced the temporary closure of the airport. Meanwhile, Bahrain's Defense Ministry reported that its military successfully intercepted and destroyed three missiles and several drones launched by Iran.
Official Condemnation
During their call, Prince Faisal and Safadi denounced Iran's violation of Kuwaiti and Bahraini sovereignty. They emphasized that such actions undermine ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The two ministers also discussed recent developments and their joint efforts to restore security and stability to the region.
Regional Coordination
Prince Faisal also received a separate phone call from Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. The two reviewed the latest regional developments, highlighting the ongoing coordination and consultation between their countries.
