Trump wants to meet Iran's Khamenei, calls Netanyahu 'crazy'

US President Donald Trump expressed his desire to meet Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei in an interview published on Wednesday. 'I would like to meet him, and we probably will meet at some point, depending on how it all works out,' Trump told the New York Post's 'Pod Force One.'

Iran's Nuclear Commitment

Trump stated that Iran has agreed not to pursue a nuclear weapon and that Ayatollah Khamenei is involved in negotiations with the United States. 'They've already agreed they're not going to have a nuclear weapon,' he asserted.

Exchange with Netanyahu

Regarding Lebanon, Trump acknowledged a harsh exchange with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expressing dissatisfaction with Israel's ongoing conflict with Lebanon. 'I did,' Trump said. 'I wouldn't say angry. I was a little bit perturbed at his constantly fighting with Lebanon, you know.' He added that he and Netanyahu maintain a good relationship.

According to an Axios report citing an unidentified US official, Trump told Netanyahu in a call on Monday: 'You're f***ing crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your a**. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this.' Trump reiterated in the interview: 'At some point I said, Bibi, we got to stop this. We got to stop it.'
