The return of Pakistani pilgrims after the completion of Hajj is progressing smoothly, with more than 34,000 pilgrims having arrived back in the country so far. According to official figures, 84,791 Pakistani pilgrims are still in Saudi Arabia as the post-Hajj repatriation operation continues. The return flights are expected to remain operational until June 30.
Minister and Support Staff Return
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf is also scheduled to arrive in Pakistan today after completing his official responsibilities in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, 250 members of the Hajj support staff have already returned after successfully performing their assigned duties.
Special Measures for Pilgrims
Authorities said special measures have been put in place to make the journey more convenient for pilgrims and to ease pressure at airports. As part of these arrangements, luggage check-in facilities are being provided directly at pilgrims’ accommodations before their departure. Pilgrims have been advised to prepare and submit their baggage according to the designated schedule, with luggage processing being carried out between 24 and 48 hours before departure flights.
Visits to Holy Sites
Officials further revealed that more than 15,000 Pakistani pilgrims have so far been able to visit Riyaz-ul-Jannah in Madinah under the post-Hajj arrangements. The flight operation for returning pilgrims will continue in phases throughout the month, with thousands more expected to arrive in Pakistan before the completion of the repatriation process at the end of June.
