Punjab: Main Procession in Lahore, Three-Tier Security

In Punjab, mourning processions including Alam, Taazia, and Zuljanah were held in various cities. The main procession in Lahore started from Pando Street, Islampura, under a three-tier security plan. Anti-smog guns and sprinklers were used along the routes to provide relief from intense heat. In Multan, numerous Alam and Zuljanah processions from different areas were taken out under a three-layer security shield, with heavy contingents deployed on all routes. Participants commemorated the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). In Bahawalpur, thirty mourning processions and seventy-seven Majalis were held. According to the Commissioner Bahawalpur Division, Section 144 was imposed across the division to ensure peaceful conduct of mourning activities.

Sindh: Karachi Procession Monitored via CCTV

In Sindh, multiple ninth Muharram processions were taken out. In Karachi, the main procession began from Nishtar Park. Over 6,000 police personnel were deployed for security, with snipers positioned on buildings along the route. The procession was monitored through CCTV cameras from a Control Room established at the Central Police Office.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Mobile Services Suspended Near Routes

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several processions were taken out from different Imam Bargahs. In Peshawar, the main procession started from Imambargah Hussainia Hall on Saddar Road. Strict security measures were adopted. Peshawar's Bus Rapid Transit service was suspended for June 25 and 26, and mobile phone services were temporarily suspended near procession routes due to security concerns. Rescue 1122 established a Medical Response Unit on the routes to provide emergency medical assistance to mourners.

Quetta: Aerial Surveillance Planned for Ashura

In Quetta, the main mourning procession comprising Alam, Taazia, and Zuljanah was scheduled to be taken out on June 26 from Nichari Imambargah on Alamdar Road, culminating at Alamdar Road in the evening. Law enforcement agencies finalized foolproof security arrangements, with Frontier Corps personnel also deployed. Aerial surveillance of the procession was planned.

Gilgit-Baltistan: Security Directed by IG Police

In Gilgit-Baltistan, mourning processions were held at various places under strict security arrangements. Inspector General of Police Gilgit-Baltistan Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan directed authorities to ensure comprehensive security measures and complete all necessary arrangements for peaceful conduct of the processions.
