The federal government on Thursday announced key appointments and transfers in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, assigning senior Information Group officers to leading positions in the Press Information Department (PID). According to separate notifications issued by the ministry, Grade-20 officer Raeesa Adil has been appointed as Executive Director General/Principal Information Officer (PIO), Press Information Department (PID), Islamabad, with immediate effect and until further orders. Prior to her new assignment, Raeesa Adil was serving as Executive Director General, External Publicity Wing in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In another appointment, Muhammad Shehzad, a Grade-20 officer of the Information Group, has been transferred and posted as Director General, Press Information Department (PID) with immediate effect and until further orders. Before his transfer, Muhammad Shehzad was serving as Director General, Digital Communication Department.
Details of the Appointments
The notifications, issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on July 9, stated that both appointments take effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders. Mubashir Hasan, the outgoing PIO, was changed by the federal government last week due to unknown reasons. Acting charge was given to DG Advertisement Zobia Masood. Zobia Masood will also be leaving for Washington later this month where she would assume her responsibilities as Minister Press at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington.
