Two Arrested for Blackmailing Medical Store Owners

Two men, reportedly residents of Multan, were detained in Kot Addu’s Sultan Colony after allegedly impersonating journalists and health department officials in an attempt to conduct a raid on a medical store. According to sources, the suspects introduced themselves as drug inspectors and contacted health authorities, allegedly seeking orders to have the medical store sealed. However, the situation raised suspicion among the store owners and local residents, who intervened and apprehended the two individuals on the spot.

Eyewitnesses said the suspects were restrained after their identities and claims appeared questionable. They were subsequently handed over to the Sultan Colony police post for further action. Meanwhile, Kot Addu Deputy District Health Officer (DDHO) Dr. Muhammad Raza submitted an application to Police Station Sinawan, requesting legal proceedings against the accused.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter following receipt of the complaint, while legal formalities for the registration of a case against the suspects are currently underway.
