PTI Trapped in Hopeless Battle, Mistaking Agitation for Politics

Seasons change, the world map shifts, and the earth completes yet another orbit around the sun, yet PTI remains trapped in the same hopeless and lonely battle. The party continues to mistake agitation for politics, confrontation for strategy, and loyalty to one man for service to the country. Even now, when the need for political normalcy is obvious, it speaks of negotiations while refusing the spirit of reconciliation.

PTI's Confused Stance on Talks

The latest remarks from PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan show the same confusion. On the one hand, the party claims it is open to talks; on the other, it insists that responsibility lies elsewhere and continues to frame every political setback as persecution. This is not serious politics. It is a permanent state of grievance, designed to keep the party base emotionally charged and the national atmosphere unstable.

Concerns Over AJK Elections

More concerning is PTI’s posture towards the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections. AJK has already seen unrest and public anger over genuine grievances. Any party with democratic sense would approach such a sensitive environment with restraint. PTI, however, has repeatedly proven itself as an agitational force, more comfortable with street clashes and provocation than reasoned argument or democratic appeal. The possibility of it attaching itself to discontent in AJK and fanning the flames cannot be ignored.

Need for Reflection

This is where PTI must reflect seriously. Reflexively aligning itself with every cause, crowd or slogan that weakens the state will not make it a revolutionary party. It will make it a reviled one. There is a difference between opposition and sabotage; between democratic resistance and becoming a vehicle for forces that seek to damage Pakistan from within.

Pakistan Needs Constructive Opposition

Pakistan needs opposition, not permanent destabilisation. PTI must choose whether it wants to remain a political party or become merely an instrument of agitation. The party’s current path risks alienating it further from mainstream politics and undermining national stability.
