Under strict security arrangements, the 9th Muharram Shabeeh Zuljinah procession was taken out in Quetta on Wednesday. The procession, led by President Balochistan Shia Conference and Nazim-e-Aala Ashiq Hussain, commenced from Imambargah Nasir-ul-Aza on Meccongi Road and concluded peacefully after passing through designated routes.
Majlis-e-Aza Precedes Procession
Earlier, a Majlis-e-Aza (mourning gathering) was held at the Imambargah before the start of the procession. The Zuljinah procession then moved through Usman Road before returning to Imambargah Nasir-ul-Aza, where it ended without any untoward incident.
Stringent Security Measures Enforced
Authorities had implemented stringent security measures for the event. All entry points leading to the procession route were sealed, while shops and business centers along the route remained closed. Personnel from Police and Frontier Corps (FC) were deployed to perform security duties. As part of precautionary measures, mobile phone services were suspended across Quetta city during the 9th Muharram to prevent any untoward incident.
