The main Shabeeh Zuljinnah procession in Lahore commenced from Nisar Haveli inside Mochi Gate at 10:40 pm on Thursday night, amid stringent security arrangements. The procession will terminate at Karbala Gamay Shah after traversing its traditional route.
Procession Route and Schedule
The procession follows a designated path through the city's historic neighborhoods. It will pass through Mohalla Chehl Bibian, Imambargah Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Mubarik Haveli, Chowk Nawab Sahib, Koocha Qazi Khana, Imambargah Maulvi Feroze Ali, Koocha Miskeenan, Mohalla Pir Gillanian, Imambargah Syed Rajjab Ali Shah, Chauhatta Mufti Baqir, Chowk Kotwali, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sunehri Mosque, Dabbi Bazaar, Gumti Bazaar, Sayd Mittha Bazaar, Tehsil Bazaar, Bazaar Hakimaan, Uchi Mosque, and Bhaati Chowk before reaching Karbala Gamay Shah.
Concluding Observances
After the procession concludes in the evening, faithful will observe Shaam-e-Gariban, where a Zakir will highlight the significance of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Security and Facilities
Foolproof security arrangements have been implemented along the entire route to prevent any untoward incidents. Authorities have also ensured the availability of facilities including Rescue 1122 services and medical provisions.
Earlier Observances on 9th Muharram
It is pertinent to mention that dozens of small and large processions were taken out on the 9th of Muharram from different parts of the city. Additionally, numerous Majilis-e-Aza were held where religious scholars shed light on the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions.
