The Punjab government on Thursday announced a significant reshuffle of senior administrative officers, transferring the Commissioner of Lahore and appointing a new commissioner, along with changes in the deputy commissioners of Sheikhupura and Mianwali. The decisions were formalized through official notifications issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).
Transfer of Commissioner Lahore Maryyam Khan
Commissioner Lahore Maryyam Khan, a PAS officer of BS-20, has been transferred with immediate effect and directed to report to the S&GAD. This move enables her to attend the National Security and War Course (NS&WC) 2026-27, a prestigious training program for senior civil servants. The notification did not specify her next posting but indicated that she will proceed for the course.
Appointment of New Commissioner Lahore
The government has appointed Nauman Yousaf, a PAS officer of BS-19, as the new Commissioner Lahore Division with immediate effect. Yousaf was previously serving as Special Secretary (Budget) in the Finance Department. He replaces Maryyam Khan in the top administrative post for the Lahore Division, which oversees the provincial capital and surrounding districts.
Changes in Deputy Commissioners
In a separate notification, Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura Shahid Imran Marth, a PMS officer of BS-19, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary in the Energy Department. His replacement is Rana Adeel Tassawur, a PAS officer of BS-19, who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Health and Population Department. Tassawur has been posted as the new Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Muhammad Asad Abbas Magsi, a PMS officer of BS-18, has been transferred and directed to report to the S&GAD for further orders. Shahid Abbas Kathia, a PMS officer of BS-18 and formerly Chief Officer of the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore, has been posted as the new Deputy Commissioner Mianwali with immediate effect. These changes are part of routine administrative adjustments to optimize governance in the province.
