FAISALABAD - Deputy Commissioner Capt (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Sunday ordered strict accountability measures against fake data reporting and manipulated field records, declaring a zero-tolerance policy for misinformation. Chairing a meeting to review district performance and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), he directed all departments to adopt effective measures for enhancing service delivery and ensuring transparency in reporting mechanisms.
He said that accurate data was the foundation of effective governance and warned that fake uploads, incorrect reporting and unverified information would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He instructed all tehsils to ensure daily verification of data and photographic evidence before uploading reports to official monitoring systems. He said the officers concerned would be held accountable for any fake entries or unverified information.
He also warned of strict disciplinary action against officials found uploading artificial intelligence-generated or edited photographs to misrepresent field performance. He directed assistant commissioners to remain active in the field on a daily basis and ensure prompt resolution of public issues. He directed chief officers, tehsildars and field staff to move beyond office-based supervision and strengthen practical monitoring of ongoing operations and public service initiatives.
He also directed the Civil Defense Force to play a more effective role in field inspections and performance evaluation processes to improve monitoring and accountability across departments. During the meeting, it was decided to adopt a comprehensive strategy for monitoring public complaints on social media platforms and ensuring their swift resolution.
Highlighting the Punjab Chief Minister’s inspection campaign, the deputy commissioner stressed the need for making all field activities geo-tagged, transparent and verifiable. He directed departments to further improve service standards at hospitals, public parks, greenbelts, bus stands, public washrooms, manholes and sanitation facilities across the district.
He said the officers involved in fake reporting or showing unsatisfactory performance would face strict action, while tehsils and departments demonstrating outstanding results would be encouraged through the award of special performance certificates. Transparency, accountability and active field presence were essential for delivering quality public services and achieving sustainable improvements in district governance and citizen satisfaction, he added.
