The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Murree conducted a comprehensive review of sanitation and traffic facilities in the hill station, focusing on improving services for residents and tourists. During the inspection, the DC visited various points to assess cleanliness and traffic management, particularly in high-density areas.
Sanitation Measures
The DC emphasized the need for strict enforcement of cleanliness standards. Municipal staff were directed to ensure regular garbage collection and proper disposal. Additional dustbins will be placed at strategic locations to prevent littering. The DC also instructed officials to monitor sanitation workers' attendance and performance.
Traffic Management
To ease congestion, the DC reviewed traffic flow patterns and directed the traffic police to deploy more personnel at key intersections. Parking violations will be penalized strictly. The DC also suggested introducing one-way traffic on certain roads during peak hours to improve movement. Efforts will be made to provide better signage and information for tourists.
Coordination for Better Services
The DC stressed inter-departmental coordination among municipal, traffic, and tourism authorities. A joint task force will be formed to address issues promptly. The DC assured that regular monitoring would continue to ensure sustainable improvements in Murree’s infrastructure and services.
