Five Killed in Lakki Marwat Family Feud Shooting

At least five people, including a woman, were killed on Saturday in an exchange of fire between two feuding families in Lakki Marwat, according to Bilal Ahmad Faizi, Spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

Decade-Old Murder Dispute Sparks Violence

Faizi told The Express Tribune that the shooting stemmed from a longstanding murder dispute between the two families, whose feud dated back nearly a decade. The incident occurred near Wanda Haji Gul in Tortalle Manjiwala.

“Three people from one family and two from the other lost their lives in the exchange of fire,” Faizi said. He added that Rescue 1122 medical teams reached the scene and shifted the bodies to Lakki City Hospital.

Rescue Operations and Aftermath

The rescue teams promptly responded to the incident, ensuring the deceased were transported for medico-legal formalities. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The identities of the deceased have not been disclosed pending family notifications.

The feud, rooted in a murder from approximately ten years ago, had simmered until erupting in this deadly confrontation. Local authorities have increased patrolling in the area to prevent further escalation.
