Manhunt for Sheikhupura Torture-Murder Suspects

Police in Sheikhupura have launched a manhunt to apprehend suspects involved in the alleged torture, sexual assault, and subsequent death of a young labourer in the Amooki area. As of now, no arrests have been made.

Family Alleges Suspects at Large

The victim's family claims that the main suspects remain at large even two days after the registration of the case. A case was registered at Sadar Police Station Sheikhupura on June 1 based on a complaint filed by the victim's father, Muhammad Boota.

Details of the Incident

According to the First Information Report (FIR), 25-year-old Fulk Sher was taken from his neighborhood late at night by a local man, Riyasat Ali, under the pretext of an urgent discussion. When Sher did not return for several hours, residents reported hearing screams coming from a nearby house. Upon investigation, locals allegedly found five suspects, described as already feared in the area, torturing the young man who was naked and in a semi-conscious state.

Social Media Video Evidence

A video circulating on social media reportedly shows the victim in an unconscious condition while being subjected to violence. The person recording the video alleges that the victim was first tied to a bed, sexually assaulted, and then brutally tortured, including being burned on the back and beaten with sticks.

Medical Response and Death

Rescue 1122 personnel arrived at the scene, provided initial medical assistance, and shifted the victim to the hospital in critical condition. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

Suspects' Background

Local sources claim the suspects are influential individuals and alleged drug users. They further stated that a minor dispute had occurred between the victim and the suspects a few days earlier, which had reportedly been settled through local mediation. However, the suspects allegedly harbored resentment and later lured the victim before carrying out the attack.

Police Response

Sadar Police Station SHO Mian Naveed Ashraf confirmed that a case was registered immediately after the complaint and that raids are underway to arrest the suspects. He stated that all efforts are being made to apprehend the accused soon and ensure they are brought to justice.
