Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrations Illuminate Islamabad Parks with Festive Cheer

The second day of Eid-ul-Fitr transformed Islamabad into a hub of joyous activity, as families and friends descended upon recreational spots across the capital to celebrate in an atmosphere of unity and merriment. Popular venues such as Shakarparian, Lake View Park, and Daman-e-Koh remained bustling with crowds throughout the day, reflecting the city's vibrant festive spirit.

Capital Administration Facilitates Family Gatherings

In anticipation of the Eid holidays, the capital administration had designated these sites as family parks from March 20 to 23, ensuring citizens had ample space to gather and enjoy the celebrations. Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9) also experienced a significant influx of visitors, who basked in the pleasant spring weather and lively ambiance. Families spread mats under shady trees, while children engaged in playful games and groups captured cherished moments with cameras, creating a tapestry of shared memories.

Food and Festivities Enhance the Celebratory Mood

Food stalls and vendors were abuzz with activity, offering a diverse array of traditional dishes and snacks that added flavor to the festivities. Many visitors indulged in the culinary delights available at the venues, while others brought homemade meals to share, further enriching the communal experience. The day was also marked by social visits, as people reconnected with relatives and friends through phone calls and warm Eid greetings, strengthening bonds and fostering a sense of community.

Visitors Share Heartwarming Experiences

Ateeq, a visitor at Lake View Park, emphasized that Eid is not merely about celebrations but also about reconnecting with loved ones. "We visited relatives in the morning and then came here to spend quality time with family. Such outings make Eid more enjoyable and memorable," he remarked. Anum, a housewife, shared her experience of hosting guests at home before heading to the park. "I prepared sheer khurma and other traditional dishes for my guests. Later, we came to the park so the children could enjoy rides and outdoor activities. Eid is truly about family time, and children especially look forward to spending the Eidi they receive from elders on fun activities and snacks of their choice," she said.

Security and Charitable Efforts Ensure a Safe and Inclusive Celebration

City managers and police implemented comprehensive security arrangements at major recreational sites, deploying personnel at entry and exit points and enhancing surveillance to manage large crowds effectively. This ensured a safe and smooth experience for all visitors. Meanwhile, charitable organizations sustained the festive spirit by distributing food and clothing among the underprivileged, ensuring that the joy of Eid was shared across all segments of society. The celebrations highlighted how public parks provide an affordable and enjoyable option for families to celebrate together, with youngsters enjoying rides and elders relaxing in a lively, inclusive environment.
