Islamabad Police Conduct Major Security Combing Operations, Detain 39 Suspects
In a significant move to bolster security, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police executed extensive joint combing operations across various areas of the federal capital, resulting in the detention of 39 suspects, including three Afghan nationals. These operations were part of intensified security measures aimed at maintaining law and order in the city.
Scope and Supervision of the Operations
The operations were carried out under the supervision of zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs) and spanned multiple jurisdictions, including Kirpa, Tarnol, Phulgran, Khanna, Karachi Company, Sangjani, Noon, Golra, and Sihala police stations. To ensure thoroughness and effectiveness, lady police officials actively participated in the checks, highlighting the department's commitment to inclusive and comprehensive security protocols.
Detailed Checks and Inspections Conducted
During the operations, police conducted extensive verifications, checking a total of 743 individuals and 307 households. Additionally, 95 shops and 46 hotels were inspected as part of the security drive. Vehicle inspections were a key focus, with 272 motorcycles and 96 vehicles examined to prevent any illicit activities.
Arrests and Recoveries Made
As a result of the operations, 39 suspects and 18 motorcycles were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification and investigation. In a notable arrest, one suspect involved in the illegal possession of weapons was apprehended, leading to the recovery of one pistol along with ammunition, underscoring the effectiveness of the security measures.
Enhanced Monitoring and Patrolling Efforts
To bolster security further, special checking points were established at entry and exit routes of the city, ensuring effective monitoring of movement. All patrolling units and special squads were actively performing duties across Islamabad, with senior officers present in the field to review security arrangements and ensure the proper implementation of measures.

The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking procedures and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
