ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced late last night that traffic restrictions imposed around the Serena Hotel and the Red Zone in the federal capital have been lifted. The restrictions had been put in place to ensure heightened security during a recent diplomatic visit.
Public Appreciation for Cooperation
Expressing his gratitude, Dar extended heartfelt appreciation to the people of Pakistan, particularly residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, for their patience and cooperation during the period of enhanced security measures. He emphasized that the public's understanding and support were instrumental in enabling authorities to maintain safety for visiting dignitaries and guests.
“Your cooperation has been vital in helping us maintain secure arrangements while continuing our broader efforts to promote peace and stability in the region,” the deputy prime minister remarked.
Commitment to Peace Initiatives
In a post on social media platform X, Dar reaffirmed the government's commitment to peace-related initiatives and stressed the importance of continued public support. He also expressed hope that citizens would continue to offer prayers and good wishes for the success of national and diplomatic efforts.
The lifting of restrictions comes after a period of heightened security in the capital. World leaders had expressed shock over a recent shooting incident at a gala in Washington, which may have influenced the security measures. Tags: traffic restrictions, Serena Hotel.
