Sindh CM orders completion of Hyderabad flyover by July 2026
Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah sets July 2026 deadline for Hyderabad flyover

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued directives to complete the Hyderabad flyover by the first week of July 2026, expressing his intention to personally inaugurate the project during a visit to the city. Chairing a meeting at the CM House, the chief minister emphasized that the long-delayed flyover must be finished on time to alleviate traffic congestion in Hyderabad.

Chief Minister's Commitment

“In July, I will visit Hyderabad and drive over the bridge to open it for general traffic. Therefore, the ministers of the three departments – Nasir Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, and Haji Ali Hassan – will work together to ensure the timely completion of the flyover,” he stated.

Meeting Attendees and Briefing

The meeting was attended by senior ministers including Nasir Hussain Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, and Haji Ali Hassan Zardari, along with senior government officials. During the briefing, officials informed the chief minister that land acquisition for the project had been completed and handed over to authorities at the end of 2018. However, the remaining construction work faced delays due to court cases and other administrative hurdles.

Officials noted that the project was originally part of a federally funded road scheme linking Hyderabad Bypass with Ghangra Mori on the left bank of Akram Wah. The provincial government has already completed major civil work, including the casting of 24 bridge girders, but the flyover remains unfinished.

Coordination and Assurance

Murad Ali Shah directed the Local Government, Works & Services, and Planning & Development departments to coordinate closely and immediately resume work on the project. “I will not tolerate any further delay,” he warned. Provincial Minister Haji Ali Hassan Zardari assured the chief minister that he would personally supervise the construction work and ensure the project is completed within the given deadline.

Importance of the Project

The chief minister stressed that the Hyderabad flyover project is crucial for improving traffic flow and connectivity in the city. He also emphasized that all technical, financial, and administrative issues should be resolved on a priority basis to complete this long-pending infrastructure project by July 2026.
